A Mother’s Song: Variations on the Vulture is an immersive performance that explores the criminalization of migrant identity. The artist guides participants through an experience of surveillance and judgment, where the use of tattoos and sports clothing—falsely associated with criminal gangs in official documents—leads to an arbitrary evaluation. Tension builds as the performance unfolds. This work challenges the audience to reflect on the notions of guilt and innocence in the context of forced migration.
